The Floating Zoo is headed up by Michael and Sara. We've been sailing and living on board various boats, along with our furry critters, since 1999.
When we met, we were both working in unexciting jobs, wondering what the heck we were going to do with ourselves. We knew something different was in order and soon decided to ditch all that dull stuff, buy a boat to live on and spend the priceless years of our youth sailing around.
So far, we've done just that. During our honeymoon summer of 2000, we sailed our Hans Christian 33T, Jenny P to and from Juneau, Alaska. When we got home, we decided to downsize a bit so we could afford a longer cruise and purchased Pelican, a 1965 Alberg 35. We spent 12 months sailing Pelican first up to British Columbia, then down the coast for a delightful winter in Mexico.
Now, back in Seattle working on filling up our cruising kitty once again, we are living onboard Rivendell, our Tayana 42. With plenty of room on board for Precious and Xena the cats, Grizzley the dog, and our newest crewmember expected in January 2006, we're gearing up for even more cruising in the years to come.
